Leyland Festival 2019 Date Announced

Save the date: the ‘Greatest Show in Lancashire’ is coming to Leyland on Saturday 15th June 2019

We may be in the grips of wintery weather right now, but the organisers of Leyland Festival 2019 are turning their thoughts to summer and their plans to put on the ‘Greatest Show in Lancashire’ with an action-packed day, brimming with fun activities and entertainment for all the family.

The magic of musical theatre will transform Leyland’s town centre into the heart of Theatreland, with the Leyland Festival 2019 theme of ‘Music from the Shows’ set to inspire a carnival spirit across the town.

Planning is already well underway to make this year’s festival bigger and better than ever before. Leyland Festival Committee Chairman Tony Harrison said: “Our team of volunteers from local businesses and community groups are working hard to plan our best festival to date. We’ve chosen the theme of ‘Music from the Shows’ and are planning to put on the ‘Greatest Show in Lancashire’ this summer with a Festival Parade that will celebrate community spirit, local talents, innovation and entertainment – all set to a backdrop of much-loved music from musical theatre.

“After the parade through the town centre, Worden Park will once again be the focal point for the festival playing host to live music with ‘music in the park’, a car show, fairground, a food and drink court, the ever-popular ‘Paws in the Park’ dog show, a sports and dance arena, trade stalls and much, much more. There really will be something for all the family.”

Leyland Festival is being held on Saturday, June 15th 2019. The parade will convene at the McDonalds roundabout at the bottom of Hough Lane at 12 noon and process right through the town centre arriving at Worden Park at approximately 12.45. The Festival continues to offer great value for money and remains an affordable day out for all the family. Entry to the festival is £3 per person with 16s and under free. Advance tickets can be bought for just £2.50 and will be sold by a number of businesses across Leyland including; Paces & Laces, Peppermint Cottage, Poppies Flower Design, Leyland Market, The Market Ale House, Solicitors Direct and La Corte.

Tony Harrison added: “Leyland Festival is an event organised for the community, by the community, but we want the whole of Lancashire and beyond to come and see what Leyland has to offer. We think it will be the greatest show in Lancashire this summer – come and see for yourselves!”
