MEET THE ARTIST: TIPITINA | LEYLAND FESTIVAL 2025

“Introduce yourselves! Who are you, and what’s your act all about?”
“We are called Tipitina, feel good music, bluesy/ jazzy but with a funky edge and inspired by the music of another great place -New Orleans!”

“What’s your history with Leyland Festival? Any standout memories?”
“Both Debbie and Justin are from the area and have been coming to this festival since they were kids themselves! Debbie remembers once being dressed as Princess Jasmine from Aladdin on the back of a truck many moons ago! Justin has played in the festival with many bands over the years when the ‘patrons’ tent’ was a popular part of the festival.”

“As local artists, what makes playing at Leyland Festival special to you?”
“We often travel far and wide for gigs but Leyland is our home so it’s always great to be playing local and this festival has so many memories for us.. so, we hope we can be part of other people’s memories as they watch the band.”

“Does our Lancastrian culture—its stories, places, or quirks—ever sneak into your music?”
“We are very proud of our northern roots in Leyland, and  you won’t find a more quirky Leylander than Justin!”

“After your set, where’s the first place in Leyland you’re heading for a celebratory bite or pint?”
“Market Ale House! Our favourite spot!”

“What’s your mission for this year’s festival? Give us a teaser of your set!”
“The mission is to give people a great time !!  Feel good songs, soulful vocals, blistering piano, guitar, drums and bass !!!”
