 MEET THE ARTIST: THE CATHEDRALS | LEYLAND FESTIVAL 2025

“Introduce yourselves! Who are you, and what’s your act all about?”
“We’re The Cathedrals—an indie rock covers band with big energy, tight sound, and a serious love for making crowds bounce. From Kings of Leon to Busted to Pulp, we take iconic tunes and inject them with our own passion and spark. We don’t just play songs—you’ll feel them!”

“What’s your history with Leyland Festival? Any standout memories? From the crowd or the stage or anything?”
“This is our first time, so we are really, really excited about making our debut on the main stage and bringing our show to the crowds at the festival! Hopefully, it can be the first of many times.”

“As a local artist, what makes playing at Leyland Festival special to you?”
“It’s our home turf! Some of us grew up watching the festival as kids, and I know that we have all dreamt of performing on the main stage! Now we get to bring our sound to the heart of a town that shaped us. It’s not just a gig—it’s a celebration, a festival of where we’re from!”

“Does our Lancastrian culture—its stories, places, or quirks—ever sneak into your music?”
“All the time! There’s nowhere like Lancashire and there’s nowhere like Leyland! It’s in our blood. Our set’s performed with a Northern grit and charm that audiences seem to love, and that’s something that we pride ourselves on!”

“After your set, where’s the first place in Leyland you’re heading for a celebratory bite or pint?”
“Well, we’ve got to go to our home turf…The Market Ale House. The guys there gave us our first chance to perform together as a band, and for that, we will be forever grateful and on top of that, they have a cracking selection of beers available!”

“What’s your mission for this year’s festival? Give us a teaser of your set!”
“Our mission? Simple: turn that field into one giant indie-fuelled dancefloor. Expect the classics, unexpected bangers, and maybe a twist on one or two crowd favourites! Oh, and to be asked to come back next year!!”

We’re super excited to welcome the Cathedrals, Leyland’s hottest new band, to the main stage on Saturday 14th June 2025.
