Leyland Festival Needs You!

Festival Committee calling on local groups and individuals to help make this year’s festival a huge success.

Do you want to make a difference in your local community? Do you want to raise the profile of your community group or charity? Do you want some hands-on event work experience to put on your CV or University Application? Or do you just fancy spending a few hours giving something back and having a great time while you do it? Whatever your reason, Leyland Festival Committee is looking for people just like you to help make this year’s event the best yet.

This year’s Leyland Festival takes place on 15th June 2019. The Festival Committee is looking for more volunteers to join the team to help with important volunteer roles including marshalling and staffing the entry gates. There is a huge amount of interest in the event, especially since the announcement of the live music line-up with upcoming local performers and bands including Breaking Waves, Bines, Renee Maré and Connor Banks, plus well-known TV and chart star Kevin Simm as the Headline act.

Leyland Festival is a highlight of South Ribble’s events calendar. This year’s theme is ‘Musicals’ and organisers are planning to put on the ‘Greatest Show in Lancashire’ with entertainment and activities for all the family. As well as the amazing live music line up, there will also be the ever-popular festival parade, the car show and ‘Paws in the Park’ dog show to keep all the family entertained.

Leyland Festival Committee Chairman Tony Harrison said: “Leyland Festival is a celebration of community spirit and each year the committee is overwhelmed by the generosity and enthusiasm of local people to help us make Festival day a huge success.

“We need volunteers to help us with a variety of different roles on the day. Some people and groups help us all day, others help for a few hours in the morning or afternoon and then enjoy the rest of the festival day with their families. We appreciate every hour that people can spare us, whatever time they can give. In return for giving their time, we will provide all volunteers with free access to the festival and lunch will be provided. Any local community groups or charities wanting to help us with volunteering will also be able to promote their good causes to the local community.”

Leyland Festival continues to offer great value for money and remains an affordable day out for all the family. Entry to the festival is £3 per person with 16s and under free. Advance tickets can be bought for just £2.50 and will be sold by a number of businesses across Leyland including Paces & Laces, Peppermint Cottage, Poppies Flower Design, The Flying Pig Pizza, Leyland Market, The Market Ale House, Solicitors Direct and La Corte.
