Community Spotlight:

Festival Committee calling on local groups and individuals

to help make this year’s festival a huge success.

Can you spare a few hours on 15th June 2019 to make this year’s Leyland Festival the best yet? Leyland Festival Committee is looking for community groups and individuals to help on the day of the festival with important volunteer roles including marshalling and staffing the entry gates.

Leyland Festival is a highlight of South Ribble’s events calendar. This year’s theme is ‘Musicals’ and organisers are planning to put on the ‘Greatest Show in Lancashire’ with entertainment and activities for all the family. As well as all the usual favourites of the parade, the car show and ‘Paws in the Park’ dog show, this year’s event will include a new festival stage for live music in Worden Park, with special guests soon to be announced.

Leyland Festival Committee Chairman Tony Harrison said: “Leyland Festival is a celebration of community spirit and each year the committee is overwhelmed by the generosity and enthusiasm of local people to help us make Festival day a huge success.

“We need volunteers to help us with a variety of different roles on the day. Some people and groups help us all day, others help for a few hours in the morning or afternoon and then enjoy the rest of festival day with their families. We appreciate every hour that people can spare us, whatever time they can give.”
