Filling Factory Family Fun Day to Showcase Leyland Festival and the British Commercial Vehicle Museum
Leyland Festival and the British Commercial Vehicle Museum are going full steam ahead with a special event in Buckshaw Village, bringing food, fun and fabulous vehicles to all the family.
On Saturday 11th May, from 12 noon onwards, families will be able to enjoy a sneak peek of Leyland Festival and the British Commercial Vehicle Museum at popular live music bar, The Filling Factory.
The museum will be displaying some of its most famous vehicles and music lovers will be treated to previews from some of the artists performing on the Acoustic Stage at Leyland Festival in June.
Liam Morrow from the Filling Factory said: “Leyland Festival is a huge local event, and the British Commercial Vehicle Museum is a great attraction right on our doorsteps, but we felt that not everyone in Buckshaw Village knew about them.
“This fun event for all the family will showcase the museum and Leyland Festival, so hopefully residents of Buckshaw Village will be able to get involved in these brilliant community experiences.”
Among the vehicles on display at The Filling Factory will be the Popemobile, a truck-based vehicle specially created by Leyland Motors for Pope John Paul’s visit to the UK in 1982. The custom-made Popemobile was designed to give audiences a clear view of the Pope as he travelled around the country.
There will also be a vintage fire truck at the event, giving children (and big kids) the opportunity to ring the big brass bell.
The British Commercial Vehicle Museum, on King Street, Leyland, reopened to the public following extensive refurbishments in January of this year.
The Filling Factory, on Ordnance Road, offers craft beers, speciality gins and live music. It’s located just two minutes’ walk from Buckshaw Parkway Train Station.
